There’s a lot to talk about with this watch: the red tapisserie dial insert adding to the sporty nature of the watch, or the pressed carbon case and bezel, or the red trim on the strap… there are just too many striking visual features on this timepiece.
 
The subdials on the chronograph are reminiscent of Formula car gauges. The tachymètre is integrated into the rehaut to preserve the original AP look, and the date window at 3 o’clock reminds you that Sunday is today and it’s Race Day.
 
Under the hood is a 3126/3840 with 50 hours of power reserve and 59 jewels with various jobs. Speaking of 59 jewels, it’s worthy of note that the AP Grand Prix does not use motor oil to lubcriate its motor, but it feels like it could be serviced at a high-end tuner just as appropriately as it could be done on a bench in one of Switzerland’s greatest horology houses.
